Casa Kloster is a magnificent, historical and elegant colonial building built in 1890, during the Mexican Revolution. Established as a room and board in 1948 for students attending the Colegio de Guanajuato (known today as the Universidad de Guanajuato). Superbly located in the historic centro, just 1/2 block from the main square and just 2 blocks from the Teatro Juarez and the Universidad de Guanajuato. The hotel shows it's beauty with rare old floor tiles dating back to the 18th century. The hotel is constructed of limestone and adobe.

Casa Kloster is a 2 story hotel with spectacular roof top views of the city. The first floor has 6 beautiful bedrooms and a total of 13 beds. The second floor has 12 rooms with a total of 25 beds. There are a total of 5 bathrooms. There is a sitting room and a bedroom with a balcony in the administration office. There area a total of 5 balconies facing the main street. There is a large formal dining room with a pantry, large kitchen with high ceilings, and original 3 hole Mexican cook top tile counter. There is a separate laundry area, 4 storage rooms, and a beautiful courtyard filled with plants and flowers. The approximate size of the property is 482 square meters. Rents are currently charged at $100 pesos per person per night. Casa Kloster is well known by many families that have lodged there over time. The majority of the patrons have been from Europe and Asia. Sr. Perez and his wife Maria, then owners were respected and loved by all due to their charisma, their unique and sincere way of ensuring travelers felt at home and were a part of the Casa Kloster family. Between 1978-79, Sr. Perez was honored with a documentary of the hotel from Siempre En Domingo by Raul Velasco which was aired by Televisa, one of the largest latin television stations. Testimonial from hundreds of travelers have been kept by the Perez Family. Sr. and Sra. Perez were gentle, down-to-earth people who believed in good service for all.
